Can.Did Conversations

The concept behind this project is a comprehensive visual identity redesign for the second edition of the arcade-themed talk series hosted at JK Lakshmipat University. Built entirely around the name "Can.Did," the strategy plays on a literal linguistic breakdown, reframing the event as an open, unfiltered look into what designers can do and what they actually did in their careers. The visual system strips away the corporate, lecture-style atmosphere typically associated with university panels, replacing it with an "arcade of honest design conversations" that fosters genuine, raw dialogue between professionals and students.

The design vocabulary leans heavily into retro arcade culture to emphasize the informal nature of these sessions. By using pixelated, 8-bit visual assets, including stylized dragon and ghost motifs, against high-contrast typography, the identity frames career milestones and design struggles as levels unlocked within a game. The typographic grid acts as a dense, playful backdrop that reinforces the casual, community-driven spirit of the event, turning a straightforward design talk into a shared, immersive experience for the campus community.
